A Productive Writing Group!

There is so much good news from Erskine Writers' members at the moment that it deserves to be on the 'front page'! Always supportive and encouraging to individual writers, any success, big or small, reflects positively on this thriving group. Hopefully the following will enourage all writers to persevere in whichever genre or type of writing they want to see published. If you just enjoy writing for pleasure, however, then you are also very welcome at our group. Here's a run-down of recent news.

Alex Gray's latest crime novel, The Swedish Girl, continues to remain at the top of the bestseller charts in Scotland and is widely available from Waterstones and other bookshops, libraries, and Amazon.

Jack Hastie's new novel for the 8-12 age group, Fraser's Voices, is now available from bookshops and Amazon. Jack had a recent very successful launch at Kilbarchan old library and his book is gaining fans amongst adults too!

Myra Duffy's latest cosy crime novel set on the Isle of Bute, Last Dance at the Rothesay Pavilion, is now available on Amazon. Myra's popular series of mystery crime novels continues to grow and is gaining a large fan base.

Myra will be taking part in a talk about publishing on Bute on Friday 21st June.

Bill Daly's new crime novel, Double Mortice, is now available on Amazon and is the second novel set in Glasgow featuring DCI Charlie Anderson.

Rosemary Gemmell's new book for the 9-13 age group (as Ros), The Jigsaw Puzzle, is now available as an ebook from MuseItUp Publishing and Amazon. Her online launch party is on the Flights of Imagination blog tomorrow (Thursday 18th April). Please drop by and enjoy the fun.

Rosemary also has a short story in this week's The Weekly News, issue dated 20th April, and she has just signed a contract with a small Irish publisher for a new series of romantic fantasy novellas set on Cyprus, The Aphrodite Touch.

Wilma Ferguson is fast becoming a regular writer for The People's Friend, and her latest story will be published in the 27th April issue.

Victoria Gemmell's first short story publication in print is included in the Words with Jam Anthology being launched at Foyle's Bookshop in Covent Garden on Saturday 1st June.

Our own Mandy Sinclair did the covers for Jack's book and Myra's book.

A wonderful list of achievements from Erskine Writers, and a worthy follow-on from our successes at the SAW in the previous post!
