The group met virtually on 2nd February 2021. Kate confirmed that she had received 10 entries for the Quaich Competition 'Black Lives Matter' the results of the entries will be heard on 9th March following Rosanna's adjudication.
The group read out their compositions for the Flash Fiction 'The Light at the End of the Tunnel'. There were a great variety of readings based on the title some excellent pieces from just 50 words. This set the tone for the meeting. Sandra had highlighted the book she had read 'The Very Short Short Story' by John Gillard which provides 101 flash fiction prompts. there were 3 categories; content based prompts, structure based prompts and method based prompts. The group spent time bringing together two short stories. We then had the opportunity to read out some of the compositions carrying the others over to be read at next weeks meeting.
Morag reminded the group about the Herald writing competition and encouraged us all to snd in a piece the closing date is mid February.
