Writing Workshops and People's Friend

Fiction Editor of The People’s Friend, Shirley Blair, was one of the adjudicators at the recent SAW Conference in March and proved a very pleasant, friendly guest over the weekend. Already forward thinking by setting up a Facebook page for ‘the Friend’, the magazine now has a great new website with links to dfferent parts of the magazine and to Shirley’s blog, amongst others: http://www.thepeoplesfriend.co.uk

Erskine Writers' members, Elizabeth and Wilma, are now becoming regular short story contributors to the magazine and there’s a lovely photo of them with Shirley at the conference: http://www.thepeoplesfriend.co.uk/fiction/fiction-editors-blog/2014/out-and-about

Cathie Devitt forwarded news about this new Creative Writing Workshop for adults, which is taking place at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum on Thursday 22 and Saturday 31 May from 2–4.15pm.

It’s inspired by French Art and sounds very interesting. Brian Whittingham led a previous successful workshop a few months ago at the museum.
