The ninth meeting was held on Tuesday and welcomed Brian a 'potentia'l new member to the group. He had read the article in The IBE Local magazine and was invited by Sandra to join the session to give him a flavour of what we are about!!

Joan had the opportunity to have her drama/script presentation delivered to the group, narrated by Joan with John S and Lorna showing off their acting skills as the main characters.

The group had received their critiques from Alan Bissett which were read and discussed.

The main body of the meeting centred around of open manuscripts which produced some excellent offerings from several of the members. Sandra read the prologue from her up and coming novel 'Before The Storm' from the Lorimer series. Morag delivered 'Hinging the Gither'. Rob served us with an exphrastic poem 'Millie" relating to HMS Ramillies (the Revenge-class battleship), and a short story 'The Fugitive' an alley cat escaping the mob.  Kate gave us a wonderfully funny poem 'Christmas Covid". John read a monologue, at the moment entitled 'Book Groups'. Joan read 'Island Story' and Sandra concluded the session with the opening chapter from her new novel

Next week we will receive the adjudications from the Under 11 completion judged by Linda Strachan. Sandra reminded the group to have their prose or poems for 'Clap for Carers' ready for our session on the 24th November.

Brian provided very positive feedback on the session and hopefully we will see him become a full time member in the very near future.
