Our first meeting of the new year. Sandra opened the meeting and reminded the group of the deadline for the SAW competitions was 14th January. The deadline for The Children's Short Story Competition is 17th January. Lorna drew our attention to online app Reedsy which is delivered on a Wednesday evening which provides lots of help from editing to marketing. It's free and well worth a look.
We heard three readings from The Short Story Competition carried over from last year. 'Betrayal' from John. 'Learn to say no" from Jeannie and 'Mirror Mirror' from Hilary. Sandra read chapter 22 from her forthcoming book. Jeannie also read the synopsis from the novel she is writing entitled (at the moment) 'Adults and how to survive them' This has been submitted for SAW young adult competition.
