Erskine Writers Meeting 3rd September 2024

This was our first meeting of the new session and was attended by 16 members. We discussed a number of points regarding the numbers of the group and potential of new members wishing to join. We are looking at the possibility of moving to a new location as our current venue is unable to provide a larger room so work continues.

We reviewed our syllabus for the coming year. Thanks to Jeannie, Sandra M, Brian John H and Rob for pulling this altogether.

We had readings from Joan 'Letter from The Front', Elizabeth 'UK Get Real, Rob two poems 'Brynn's First Day' and 'The Black Madonna', Sandra read an excerpt from her new book 'Acts of Malice' and Jeannie finished with "In The Bookshop of my Dreams'.

We agreed that we would send our short stories written in the last session to Greenock Writers for critiquing.

Jeannie confirmed our outing to Kelvingrove Galleries on 1st October and we can can firm transport arrangements prior to the visit.

Jeannie reminded the group our AGM is on 24th September and any points wishing to be raised should be sent to John H by 20th September.

SAW conference dates 21st-23rd March 2025
