This week's meeting the group received the adjudication results from the Ekphrastic Poetry competition. We were joined by Marc (Sherland) who delivered the workshop on 20th October and set the competition guidelines. Marc provided excellent critiques on all the poems entered (eleven in total). He was very impressed by the standard of all the entries. The group were likewise impressed by his knowledge of the paintings/artefacts that the group had used for each of their poems.
Marc awarded two commended Kate & Sandra, one highly commended John H. Third place went to Kate with her entry titled 'King", second was Joan with sorry 'Sorry'. The winner of The Betty Munnoch award, was Jack with a wonderful piece 'Only a painting hung on a wall". Congratulations Jack.
Our final meeting before the winter break is next Tuesday 8th December...virtual Christmas Party!!
